The giclee provides unsurpassed depth color and photo-like reproduction of an original painting. Giclee translated from the French as "a spraying of ink" is produced by an ink jet printing process in combination with computerized imaging and fine art printmaking techniques. During the printing a fine spray of ink delivers a million micro droplets per second from four precision nozzles. These droplets are projected onto a hand-mounted sheet of fine art paper or canvas that is rotating on a drum up to a speed of 250 inches per second. Each particle of color is defined by these microscopic droplets of ink. (A droplet is 15 micron and four times smaller than a human hair.) This allows for the portrayal of the finest detail from the original image.
